Precision farming is no longer just a luxury for large-scale operations, it has become a necessity for farmers who want to work smarter, reduce input costs and maximise every hectare. At NAMPO 2026, AGCO once again placed strong emphasis on technology-driven solutions with its PTx offering, where farmers could see firsthand how integrated precision solutions can take their operations to the next level and how they can make their existing equipment smarter using PTx solutions.
According to Emile Renke, Product Marketing Manager for precision farming solutions at AGCO, PTx is far more than just a new brand name. He explains: “PTx stands for precision farming (P) and advanced technology (T) that exponentially (x) increases the positive impact on your farming operation. We want our dealers to be a one-stop shop for farmers’ precision needs, from displays and GPS systems to planters, spraying and water management technology.”
Smarter spraying technology for better utilisation
One of the solutions that drew significant attention at the PTx stand was the Symphony system from the PTx Precision Planting range. The system uses PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) nozzles to ensure optimal coverage and better utilisation of spraying products.
The technology offers individual section control, meaning sections automatically switch on and off to reduce overlap. The system also provides turn compensation when the sprayer moves through curves.
“The goal is to minimise product waste while ensuring maximum efficiency,” says Emile.
The Symphony Vision camera adds another layer of accuracy by acting as a spot-spray system. The camera can identify weeds between crops and distinguish between green-on-green and green-on-brown conditions.

Emile Renke from AGCO shared insights with farmers at NAMPO on the latest PTx precision farming solutions.
Smarter water management
PTx Trimble’s water management solutions generated particular interest among vegetable farmers. This technology enables farmers to level fields precisely to prevent water pooling and crop damage. The system makes it possible to shape fields to specific slopes so that water drains at a controlled rate without causing erosion.
According to Emile, the solution can also be used for subsurface drainage.
“We are increasingly seeing that water management plays a critical role in profitable production. These solutions help farmers manage water far more effectively,” he explains.
Integration without complications
Another highlight was the introduction of the V-Connect Drive solution. This system allows farmers to use Precision Planting’s well-known V-Drive seed meter system with their tractor’s existing ISOBUS terminal, without the need for a separate or additional display.
“There was strong demand from customers who wanted to benefit from V-Drive, but simply sought to integrate it with their existing systems,” says Emile.
The solution offers seed monitoring and control in a simple and cost-effective way, while still allowing farmers to upgrade later to the full Precision Planting 2020 display for additional functionality, such as optimised plant population and improved emergence.

The Symphony spraying system ensures optimal coverage and minimal wastage.
Data that drives better decisions
One of the latest additions to the PTx solutions is Farming Guide, a brand-independent farm management software package that can collect and integrate data from different platforms.
The system can pull data from tractors such as Fendt, Valtra and even other platforms through open Application Programming Interface (API) integration.
“Farmers are sitting with vast amounts of data, but the key is to make that data usable,” explains Emile. “With Farming Guide, everything can be brought together on one platform to support better management decisions.”
Data can also be sent back via the cloud to different tractors within a fleet, further improving workflow and management control.
A planter unit built for precision
The CornerStone planter unit also attracted strong interest. This planter unit was developed by Precision Planting and designed to accommodate various retrofit solutions and technologies.
The unit includes adjustable downforce for optimal seed placement, V-Drive seed meter technology for excellent singulation (meaning the planter places one individual seed at a time at the correct spacing), and the WaveVision sensor for accurate seed counting. Closing wheel pressure can also be adjusted to ensure optimal seedbed conditions.
Retrofit solutions for any tractor
PTx Trimble’s retrofit solutions remain one of the biggest attractions for farmers who want to make existing tractors smarter without necessarily purchasing new equipment.
The range includes the GFX 1260, GFX 1060 and GFX 350 displays, offering features such as auto-steering, variable rate application, and section control.
“We believe in a modular approach,” says Emile. “A farmer should be able to start with what they need and expand later as their requirements grow.”
For GPS solutions, PTx Trimble offers the NAV-500 and the flagship NAV-960 receivers. The NAV-960 provides accuracy of up to 2,5 cm through paid satellite correction signals.
Even tractors that were not originally steering-ready can be converted into smart tractors with full auto-steering functionality using an electric steering wheel.
GreenFit brings fleets together
Another interesting solution is GreenFit, specifically designed for farmers already operating on systems such as John Deere.
With GreenFit, tractors such as Massey Ferguson or Fendt can be integrated with existing John Deere displays, receivers, and Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) signals.
“This means the customer does not have to change their existing precision platform but can still fully integrate other tractors into the fleet,” explains Emile.
Technology driving farming forward
At NAMPO, it became clear that precision farming is no longer just about technology, it is about better decision-making, improved efficiency and sustainable profitability.
With PTx’s integrated approach, AGCO is demonstrating how technology solutions can be practically applied to help farmers farm more accurately, more intelligently and more productively, regardless the size or brand of their equipment.
