“Allamoses! Now this is a nice tractor!” That is how farmers responded when they saw what Valtrac’s Valtra tractors are capable of at the recent Val Farmers’ day.

Valtra tractors originated in Finland and certain models are manufactured in Brazil, but still according to the highest standards.

Valtra is firmly rooted in the South African farming community thanks to their robust construction and world-class technology, but also the legendary service that Valtrac, the South African supplier of Valtra, offers to farmers.

Val is one of the farming days where farmers can come and see how tractors and implements WORK; not just how they LOOK when they are resting polished and cleaned on a showroom floor. “We welcome the opportunity to show farmers how Valtra can make their farming easier, better, more efficient and more profitable,” says Wynn Dedwith, CEO of Valtrac.

“Valtra is well known for its robust build, reliability and longevity,” says Wynn. “We brought the Valtra T235 with us today to demonstrate what this tractor is like.”

A Valtra is strong and efficient

“This tractor is known for its high efficiency. It has a 30-speed automatic gearbox which enables the farmer to work at low speeds, and a shuttle gear which makes it perfect for tasks such as front-end loader work.”

The Valtra T235 is a complete tractor: It is built with a front three-point hitch and optional front power take-off, front axle suspension, hydraulic and air trailer brakes, and enough hydraulic points from front to the rear. This Valtra T235 Versu has 160-litre oil flow which is independently adjustable from the cab at each bank with the Smart Touch system. The adjustability of the hydraulic flow on different banks makes this machine the perfect tractor for precision planters and other implements.

But it is not just the hydraulics that can be controlled from the touch screen. All tasks that the tractor can perform can be adjusted from here. This makes it the easiest headland management system on the market.

“Another advantage of a Valtra T-series – and also the N-series – is that a large number of the tractors leave the factory with front-loaders already mounted,” says Wynn. “It is a phenomenon that one is starting to see more and more in South Africa: that farmers have a need for loading work that their tractors have to do. Whether it is loading compost, lime or feed, the Valtra is a complete mechanisation package with the support that the South African farmer deserves.”

Valtra’s motto is: We work harder to make hard work easy for the farmer. Here, the popular Valtra T235 shows how it runs with a harrow disc through the field with ease.

Valtra leads in technology

“The T-series tractors also have the clutch braking capabilities that most tractors have these days,” says Wynn. “Valtra already added this feature in 1999. This just shows why Valtra is widely known as the market leader that brings technology to the farm.

“Valtra was of course also one of the first tractors that could steer and turn automatically,” he adds.

When you decide to acquire a Valtra tractor, you can of course order it according to your preferences, and the factory will make it especially for you.

“With the Unlimited Studio, you can choose any Valtra tractor and make it look the way you want,” says Wynn. “The tractor can be customised according to any legal modifications. You can even design a pink tractor with a chrome exhaust system if you want,” he jokes. “It is available direct from the factory.”
