Intentional adventure. This is the goal behind Mahindra Pik Up Karoo’s special range which has been designed and manufactured on South African soil. Why? Because Mahindra knows what their South African customers are looking for.

The special series, namely the Karoo Dusk, Dawn, and Storm, was introduced to the South African market in 2022. All three are upgraded versions of the original Pik Up Karoo. Each is equipped with heavy-duty off-road suspension, off-road tires, and hardened 4×4 rims. The Pik Up series’ ground clearance of 210 mm also spells adventure.

The Karoo name continues to be linked to the Mahindra Pik Up range to show that the brand really understands the needs of the South African bakkie market. The popularity of the original Karoo model is attributed to the balance Mahindra maintains between reliability and efficiency, and now the new range offers even more.

With the same efficient 2,2-litre turbodiesel engine, these bakkies offer 103 kW of power and 320 Nm of torque. The six-speed automatic gearbox ensures smooth shifting and full utilisation of the engine’s power.

But is it not the same Karoo bakkie just in a new jacket? No, because on top of some features that are standard in the original model, there are also new additions such as a fully leather-clad cabin and custom colours.

On the outside, it boasts a front bull bar and sports bar on the body that bears the Karoo name. Inside, the touchscreen has been upgraded to nine inches.

Together, all the accessories and features are not only stalwarts on 4×4 trips, but they also make the vehicle a lifestyle bakkie that easily ventures into Africa.

All models have a 120 000 km mechanical warranty and a five-year/90 000 km service plan.

Mahindra wanted to show with the design of these special models that South Africans are not just buyers to them, but people whose needs they really care about.

Karoo Dusk

The Karoo Dusk is available in a soft matte black finish that makes the vehicle look impressive. Its characteristic Karoo emblem – the thorn tree – is highlighted in blue. This model’s design was inspired by the pitch-black night of the Karoo.

Karoo Dawn

This model draws strong inspiration from the beige-coloured sand of the Karoo landscape. On this model, the emblem appears in orange, reminiscent of the early morning sun. It also has a roof rack as a standard accessory.

Karoo Storm

Think of that brewing storm over the open Karoo… This is the colour of the Karoo Storm Pik Up. The overall design uses this grey-blue to not only be a distinctive colour, but an experience.
