South Africans are proud of our wildlife and nature. Thousands of foreigners flock here every year for the opportunity to see our big five. Few things are as fun as a game drive when the sun rises or sets, especially when you do it in a game viewer where you can get as close as possible to the animals.
These vehicles are not only for game viewing but are also used by hunters. JagLekker has the same passion about the wildlife experience they offer as Mahindra Alberton has for their products.
To support JagLekker, Mahindra Alberton recently provided the JagLekker team with a brand-new customised game viewer. This vehicle will be used on safaris and hunting trips throughout South Africa.
Such a vehicle must obviously be tough and agile enough to tackle the winding roads and hills of the bush. That’s why they converted one of their Mahindra S4 4×4 vans into a game viewer.
Watching wildlife requires power
The Mahindra S4 4×4’s 2,2 litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine with common rail injection produces 103 kW and 320 Nm of torque. The vehicle carries 1,2 tonnes and can tow 2,5 tonnes. Its fuel tank holds 80 litres and with its fuel consumption of 12,6 litres per 100 km you can be sure that you can explore in the bush all day.

Convenience at its finest
The framework of the game viewer is sturdy and strong, and can carry a large weight. The Mahindra S4 4×4’s leaf springs are reinforced, and the vehicle carries the frame and nine adult passengers with ease.
For added versatility, the vehicle’s cabin top is open. This gives the driver fresh air and allows him to stand upright to look at the wildlife. In rainy or cold weather, the opening is covered with canvas.
At the rear end of the body there are steps for easy entry and exit, and the top-quality canvas seats, roof and sides also includes pockets to safely store personal belongings such as cameras and binoculars.

Quintis Grobler from JagLekker receives the keys to the game viewer from Gert Erasmus from Mahindra Alberton.
The S4’s big brother
The Mahindra pick-up is also available in the S6 4×2 and 4×4. The Mahindra S6 is only slightly more luxurious but has the same power and capacity. The S4, as well as the S6, are guaranteed for 4 years or 120 000 km. While the S6 has a standard service plan of 5 years or 90 000 km, there is the option available to get a service plan for the S4 as well. As an extra bonus, both have 4 years or 120 000 km roadside assistance.
Mahindra has been in South Africa for 21 years and they are not only known for their quality vehicles that are light on fuel, but also for the service that their vehicles and the skilled Mahindra team provide.
