New Holland has renewed its line of compact self-propelled grape harvesters with the release of an updated 2024 range, featuring the new BRAUD 7.50M, 7.30L and 8.50L models. These machines succeed the previous BRAUD 7030M, 7030L and 8030L, introducing fresh styling, greater power, enhanced operator comfort, and advanced harvesting features.
To mark 50 years of BRAUD production, New Holland debut the flagship BRAUD 8.50L in South Africa at NAMPO Cape 2025, underscoring its ongoing commitment to innovation in viticulture.
Increased capacity and power
At the heart of the BRAUD 8.50L is a 144hp FPT four-cylinder engine, a 16hp increase over its predecessor, delivering higher productivity in demanding conditions.
Its 3 600-litre hopper represents a 500-litre boost in capacity, enabling longer harvesting runs before unloading.
The new IntelliView™ IV Plus touchscreen terminal provides operators with faster, more intuitive control. On the BRAUD 8.50L, the machine’s levelling system now locks automatically when switching from field to road mode, improving both convenience and safety.
Precision harvesting systems
The proven SDC Shaking System has been upgraded across all models with a new pinch adjustment arrangement, ensuring consistent shaking regardless of canopy thickness. Operators can now make jack-free pinch adjustments directly from the cab, reducing setup time and simplifying cleaning.
On the BRAUD 8.50L, optimised shaker plates activate automatically at the fruiting zone and can be removed individually in under two minutes with a single bolt, dramatically reducing maintenance downtime.
Optional Opti-Grape™ II cleaning and cane removal systems further enhance harvest quality, while wheel configurations of 24” or 28”, optional front axle suspension, and add-ons like a destemmer and static weighing system allow for broad customisation.
The BRAUD 8.50L’s auger features a 3,05 m unloading height, enabling efficient discharge of a full 3 600-litre load into trailers or trucks with up to 3,0 m net height.
Easier, safer travelling and enhanced comfort
All new BRAUD models feature a revised hydrostatic transmission for greater confidence on slopes. The BRAUD 8.50L’s automatic height and lateral tilt correction (CDHA) system allows for up to 30% slope correction, while the machine height can be raised by 600 mm with three adjustable levels. Both machine height and headland height can be stored and recalled for ease of operation.
The IntelliView™ IV Plus terminal, built on hardware derived from the IntelliView™ 12 system used in other New Holland machines, now offers sharper graphics, faster response, and an inductive touchscreen for improved feel and accuracy. It supports up to four camera feeds, including a standard base camera and a new rear-view monitor.
Operator visibility is further enhanced with a new front top cab worklight package, boosting light output from 1 200 to 2 000 lumens per unit, for a total of 12 000 lumens, 2,5 times brighter than previous models. A redesigned external mirror package combines standard and high-angle mirrors in a single unit, improving rearward visibility.
Inside the cab, operator comfort has been significantly upgraded with a new premium seat featuring heating, ventilation, lumbar support, and a sliding backrest extension for long harvest days.
