The Hino 700 truck range is one of the most advanced heavy-duty truck series on the market. These trucks ensure not only that your cargo, driver, and vehicle reach their destination safely, but also that they return without incident.

Anton Falck, Vice President of Hino South Africa, shared at NAMPO 2025 that you simply can’t go wrong with a Hino truck. Hino has been available in Southern Africa for more than fifty years and forms part of the Toyota family—sharing the same core values of durability and reliability.

Although the Hino 700 series was previously available in South Africa, the company decided to temporarily withdraw the product to implement further development. In 2023, Hino reintroduced the improved Hino 700 range.

The Hino 700 is built to handle heavy-duty transport with ease.

The Hino 700 series

The truck series is available in four variants with two engine sizes: a 335,5 kW (450 horsepower) and a 307,5 kW (410 horsepower) option.

Buyers can also choose between two different tractor units, as well as a freight carrier and a tipper model.

“These vehicles perform exceptionally well. We quickly carved out a strong niche for ourselves in the South African market,” says Anton.

He adds that the truck is ideally suited for transporting large, heavy loads.

The Hino 700 is packed with features designed to protect your load and driver.

Safety first in the Hino 700 series

The Hino 700 series is loaded with safety features designed to keep the truck, load, and driver secure at all times.

Onboard driver monitoring systems alert the driver when they are not paying attention to the road. By reading facial expressions, the system can detect if the driver is drowsy or distracted.

The truck also monitors whether the driver’s hands are on the steering wheel. Equipped with radar and cameras, the truck ensures it stays in its lane and issues an audible warning if it drifts to the left or right.

The vehicle also features forward collision detection using radar technology to identify obstacles in the road and automatically reduce speed. This system also slows the truck down if the vehicle in front is moving at a slower pace.

Finally, the truck is equipped with emergency brakes that are activated when an obstacle appears in the road that the driver may have missed.

For a limited time from early 2025, the Hino 700 series also come with a service plan that covers the first seven services at no cost.

The Hino 700 series is a versatile and dependable truck range suitable for various industries and applications. With its rugged construction, advanced safety systems, and integrated technology, it’s an ideal solution for any business that requires a powerful and efficient vehicle.
