Great excitement reigned among forage farmers when Valtrac’s range of winning tractors and haymaking equipment entered the arena at Balfour Hay Day 2025.
Farmers were particularly impressed with Valtrac’s beautiful, white Valtra N135 Versu tractor, the first one in the country, which is precision-ready with all the necessary technology.
The cabin is more comfortable than a king’s throne chamber with an unobstructed view all around and a SmartTouch armrest that makes it easy for the operator to accurately and effortlessly control this wealth of power and technology with his fingertips.

“The Versu tractor’s loader weighs the loads you lift so you know the exact weight of every bale you lift. This is especially beneficial if you want to load the hay onto the lorry, because then you already have an idea of what it weighs, or if you want to unload bags of fertiliser. It is a nice multipurpose loader that lifts up to 3,8 m high so that it can easily load bales onto a truck or unload fertiliser,” says Devin Dedwith of Valtrac.
He adds that the information extracted can be transferred to an Excel spreadsheet. You can also see each field’s totals separately on the screen.
Make precious hay
Valtrac is also the reliable supplier of Pöttinger hay equipment. The Novacat S8 mower from Pöttinger is mounted on the back of the Versu tractor and the controls are reversed to tackle the land in reverse, as the Versu drives equally well in reverse as it does forward, making it probably the most versatile tractor you can get. The reverse operation of the tractor prevents material from being trampled before it is cut.
The Novacat S8 saves time and money because you can do twice as much mowing with mowers mounted front and rear.
Forage farmers were also impressed with Valtrac’s Pöttinger rakes and APV seeders.
