Kamar heat detection stickers

Kamar Heatmount Detectors are heat detection stickers featuring a built-in timing mechanism designed to be activated by standing heat behaviour.

The stickers work through pressure to identify beef and dairy cattle that are ready for artificial insemination. The device is attached to the tailhead and contains a three-second timing mechanism that changes colour. The delayed activation ensures that the mechanism is triggered only by genuine standing heat behaviour.

Standing heat is the most reliable indicator that a cow is ready to be bred. Kamar provides a proven and accurate indicator to help improve your artificial insemination programme.

Research conducted by the University of Maryland and reported in The Journal of Dairy Science indicated that Kamar heat detection was up to 84% effective when combined with visual observation, which achieved 96% accuracy. In the same study, heat detection through visual observation alone was 68% effective.

Aspitop aspirin bolus

Even minor pain or discomfort can quickly affect your animal’s performance and health, ultimately impacting your herd’s profitability. Although cows do not always show obvious signs of pain, symptoms may include lameness, calving stress, mastitis or inflammation.

Four Lakes’ Aspitop aspirin bolus is a natural solution specifically designed with both the farmer and the cow in mind.

Aspitop is formulated to act quickly, targeting pain, fever and inflammation in cattle. It helps improve overall animal comfort and supports the cow’s health during challenging periods.

The bolus is suitable for cows weighing more than 400 kg and is ideal for situations such as calving, hoof trimming, lameness and hoof problems, mastitis, metritis, and when a cow shows signs of illness, stress or pain.

Aspitop combines natural, plant-based ingredients known for their healing and anti-inflammatory properties. These include white willow (Salix alba), salicylic acid compounds, citrus extracts and propolis. Propolis is a resinous substance produced by bees from plant and tree resins, which they use to seal and protect their hives.

Aspitop offers practical benefits for everyday farm management, including rapid results that can last up to two days and prompt pain relief. It can be used alongside other medications, has no withdrawal period for milk or meat according to the product information, and treatment can be repeated after 36 hours if necessary.

Lactipro FLX Calf

LactiproFLX® is an advanced microbial supplement specifically designed to support calf and rumen health. It contains a unique, patented strain of the naturally occurring microorganism Megasphaera elsdenii (NCIMB 41125).

This particular strain was selected because it grows rapidly in the rumen, has a short doubling time and is one of the most robust Mega e® strains, with the ability to adapt to a wide range of pH levels.

The primary function of Megasphaera elsdenii is to use lactic acid in the rumen as a substrate. This helps regulate rumen pH effectively in feedlot cattle and young animals, supporting a functional and healthy rumen. It is particularly beneficial when animals transition to high-energy diets or experience environmental and physiological stress that can disrupt microbial populations.

In addition, the microorganism can utilise glucose and carbohydrates when lactate levels are low, produces beneficial butyric acid, and is fully compatible with ionophores, yeasts and other feed supplements.

Supporting healthy cattle at every stage

Keeping your herd healthy requires the right products and effective management throughout every stage of the production cycle.
