When farmers choose which tractor to purchase, Mahindra’s offering is certainly appealing: a 5-year warranty, a 3 000-hour warranty, and an impressive turnaround time of three working days for servicing and parts.
Farmers also receive a replacement tractor while their reliable workhorses are being serviced, allowing them to continue with their farming operations. Therefore, many farmers will likely find it difficult to look past a Mahindra.
Every farmer appreciates excellent service, and because Mahindra goes the extra mile for farmers, the company’s tractors do not simply sit idle – they work hard. Mahindra also attended NAMPO Cape this year to showcase its reliable range of tractors to farmers and to give agricultural producers the opportunity to speak to Mahindra specialists about why the team recommends these machines.
Mahindra has the following tractor ranges in its stable: the 6000, 7500 and 8600 series, and it also offers orchard tractors.
“Mahindra’s tractors (23 or 26 horsepower) can be used for anything on the farmer’s property, and the best part is that an attachment can be added, such as a sprayer at the back or a forklift, depending on the farmer’s needs. These can also be purchased together or separately,” says Creg Bergmann, Head of Sales at Mahindra SA.

Leigh van der Merwe of DBS Farm Equipment, which sells Mahindra tractors and orchard tractors in Strand, Western Cape, provides more information about the 7590 model.
“With 92 horsepower, it is a robust, strong and versatile tractor that is very simple to operate. It also does not have a lot of technology, which makes it easier for farmers and workers to use. The tractor can be used for any ploughing or pulling work. Its lifting capacity is two and a half tonnes,” he says.
What makes this Mahindra tractor stand out is its low fuel consumption. “The tractor also has a long warranty, and we personally go out to farmers to service the tractor. The parts are also readily available.”

Kobus Lloyd of Agri Power Equipment in Robertson shares his experience with Mahindra tractors. “We have been in business for 20 years and have been selling Mahindra tractors. We are proud of them because the tractors perform well in our region.”
Farmers use Mahindra’s 6000 and 7500 series, which are tractors of the same size, to pull trailers or feed mixers and also use them for ploughing. “It is a very economical tractor at a good price. Mahindra tractors are the biggest-selling tractors in the world, although not in South Africa. That already says a lot about the quality of the tractor,” Kobus adds.
