Controlling flow: Kanna’s V-shaped conveyor belt

Kanna’s V-shaped conveyor belt was developed to solve this challenge. Although the concept has long been used in abattoirs, Kanna has adapted it for practical on-farm use.

The machine consists of two conveyor belts positioned in a V-shape against each other. The sheep is guided from the forcing race into the belt and gently transported with its legs in the air. In this position, the animal cannot kick or move around, making handling much easier and calmer – and in the process, the sheep can easily be rolled over.

The result is better control, less stress on the animal and reduced physical strain for workers.

The belt speed is adjustable according to workflow and can be stopped at any time by using a foot pedal available along the full length of the machine on both sides. This gives the operator full control over the process.

Furthermore, the unit can be used as a static installation or made mobile, making it ideal for use with mobile yards and different working environments.
