A phosphate deficiency is not something you will notice immediately in your animals, but over time you will notice it. Poor production and weak bones are signs of a phosphate deficiency in your animals. South African soil does not have much phosphate in it and therefore farmers must supplement their animals with phosphate to keep them strong and healthy.
