South African farmers know: to farm profitably in today’s challenging agricultural climate requires equipment that is not only strong but also smart. At NAMPO 2025, Valtrac once again demonstrated why they’re the trusted partner farmers can rely on. Their exhibition stand with demonstrations and product launches didn’t just showcase technology — it brought practical solutions straight to the field.

Valtra N135 with “Lift & Load” practical demonstration

One of the crowd-pleasers at Valtrac’s NAMPO stand this year was the Valtra N135 equipped with the “Lift & Load” function, which allowed farmers to get behind the wheel and experience innovative, intelligent technology first-hand. This demonstration didn’t just attract interest — it reaffirmed farmers’ confidence in a tractor that is both precise and adaptable. And that’s exactly what farmers want!

“With the ‘Lift & Load’ technology, we give farmers the opportunity to see just how easy, fast and accurate a loading process can be with this tractor. What you load is also immediately weighed, which gives you real-time, accurate data on a printout,” explains Devin Dedwith, Co-director at Valtrac.

“We want farmers to experience it themselves — not just see it,” says Devin.

Valtra’s practical demo of the N135’s Lift & Load system was extremely valuable to farmers at NAMPO, as they could get into the tractor cab themselves and experience how the system works in real life.

Flagship equipment on display

Another firm favourite at Valtrac’s stand was the tried-and-tested Pottinger Novacat 300 Alpha Motion mower. These mowers are synonymous with durability, reliability, and efficient cutting performance — and that’s precisely why farmers return to them time and time again. With the ability to double work output using only one tractor and one operator, the Novacat saves both time and fuel without compromising on quality.

An old, well-known product of Valtrac, the Pottinger Novacat 300 Alpha Motion mower, is still a favourite with farmers.

“These mowers are also equipped with conditioners for crops like lucerne,” Devin explains. This means faster drying, higher-quality fodder, and less loss — all in one smart, robust system. Pottinger remains a name South African farmers can trust, and the Novacat 300 Alpha Motion is further proof of that.

Back by popular demand and stronger than ever, the AARP ploughs once again featured prominently at Valtrac’s stand this year. These impressive ranges are now in stock up to a ten-furrow model, offering farmers more choice and greater capacity. The eight-furrow reversible plough with breakaway action attracted special attention at NAMPO. The breakaway mechanism protects against rocks and obstructions, making it well-suited to variable soil conditions.

The robust AARP turnaround plough was a popular attraction at Valtrac’s stand at NAMPO this year.

The Major Cyclone mower is ideally suited for cutting crop residues such as maize and cotton close to the ground, finely shredding them, and then spreading them evenly on the field.

The Major Cyclone mower was another eye-catcher — a robust piece of equipment designed specifically for efficient crop residue management.

Devin explains that this mower is ideal for chopping and finely shredding maize or cotton stalks, without forming windrows. Instead, material is spread evenly behind the mower, helping to improve soil cover and ease preparation for the next planting season.

In addition, the Cyclone mower is ideal for trimming cover crops or stubble cleanly and thoroughly. This implement is perfect for farmers who want to prepare their soil without sacrificing speed or quality — fast, neat, and reliable.

Precision planting in conservation systems

Another implement that caught farmers’ attention this year was the Tatu PDCP fine-seed drill — an impressive solution for precision planting in no-till systems. This drill is specifically designed to work delicately but accurately, even in challenging soil conditions.

“What makes this drill unique is that it’s a no-till fine-seed planter. It also features a large cutting disc, a significant offset between the front and rear seed rows, and a press wheel at the rear,” explains Devin.

The design enables precision and reliable seed placement while preserving soil structure. The Tatu PDCP also has two separate hoppers, allowing farmers to simultaneously apply seed and fertiliser — a major advantage for those wanting to reduce costs and increase yield. This planter is an excellent choice for farmers looking for technology that truly supports their conservation farming practices.

The APV PS1600 M1 and PS300 M1 pressurized air seeders are suitable for even seed dispersal, with precision and efficiency in every row.

Last but certainly not least were the APV PS1600 M1 and PS300 M1 pneumatic seeders. These seeders are ideal for even seed distribution, with precision and efficiency in every row. The PS1600 tank holds 1 600 litres and its standard 16 outlets can be expanded to as many as 32 — perfect for larger applications and quicker work.

“This APV range stretches from 40 litres up to 1 600 litres. So, whether you need to broadcast or seed, Valtrac has the solution for you,” adds Devin.

Valtrac – your partner in farming equipment and technology

At NAMPO 2025, Valtrac showed that they don’t just sell products — they build partnerships. In a time when every on-farm decision matters — from fuel efficiency to implement selection — Valtrac gives farmers the confidence that their equipment get the job done with precision, reliability, and style.

NAMPO 2025 made it clear once again: when technology, agriculture, experience, and a true understanding of farming needs come together, something remarkable happens. Valtrac doesn’t just bring tractors, implements, and machines to farmers … they bring solutions, partnerships, trust, and legendary aftersales service.

“Our farmers deserve equipment that works — and people who stand behind them,” Devin concludes.
