The Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development (DALRRD) together with the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) will host a Foot-and-mouth Disease (FMD) Awareness campaign at Mokwakwaila Stadium, Greater Letaba Municipality in Limpopo on Thursday 21 September.

The purpose of the awareness campaign is to address challenges posed by FMD, which is affecting cloven-hoofed animals in the province, other animal diseases and stock theft within farming communities. The continued prevalence of Foot-and-mouth Disease and other diseases is of great concern and its eradication remains a cornerstone for disease control in Limpopo and the rest of the country. Officials and animal disease experts will share information and measures to control and combat livestock diseases with the community.
